Thermal Management and Consistent Precision
The machine’s symmetrical design and precisely engineered kinematics promote exceptionally even heat distribution throughout the frame. This effective thermal stability control prevents dimensional changes caused by thermal expansion, helping to ensure consistent and reliable machining accuracy even during long production runs.
High-speed production and tooling technology
The direct-drive motor spindle and high-speed servo-driven turret, both standard features of the machine, open up entirely new possibilities for high-speed production of bar stock. A hydraulic three-jaw chuck is used for the secure and powerful clamping of workpieces, ensuring precise centering. Tool management, meanwhile, is handled by a robust 12-station BMT tool turret, whose rigid connection enables even demanding milling and drilling operations without vibrations that could compromise quality.
Workplace Safety and Support for Integrated Automation
A complete, sealed protective cover ensures safe operation and a clean work environment by keeping chips and splashes securely inside the machine. A bright work light ensures optimal visibility of the work area, and a clear three-color warning light indicates the machine’s current status. Controls
The SL series is equipped with the popular Fanuc control system. The control package includes the AICC function, enabling high-speed turning.
Tool change
The SL series lathes are equipped with either a servo-driven or hydraulic tool changer. The tool changers have 8 or 12 positions, depending on the model.
VDI technology
The VDI system is a quick-release system for every tool holder on the tool plate. Thanks to this, tool changes can be performed in seconds rather than minutes, unlike with the traditional bolted Block clamping system.
Automatic tool measurement
The measuring arm reduces setup time to seconds and eliminates manual measurement errors. A highly sensitive touch sensor automatically updates the X- and Z-axis tool offsets directly to the machine control system. The sturdy and durable construction ensures precise repeatability even in demanding machine shop environments.
Oil mist collector
This powerful oil mist extractor removes harmful cutting fluid mists, aerosols, and fumes from the air in the CNC lathe’s work area immediately during machining. The device reliably filters the exhaust air and returns the separated oil or emulsion to the lathe’s fluid tank for reuse.
