Reliable performance for short pieces
The SL Series slant-bed lathe offers excellent performance and cost-effectiveness, particularly for machining flanged and short parts. This series matches the performance of more expensive alternatives, but its lower price point makes it the optimal choice for a variety of automation solutions.
Robust construction and a versatile tool system
The SL series models are equipped with a sturdy, one-piece cast iron bed, which ensures machining stability and precision. Additional tool stations located below the turret provide flexibility in production, allowing for the installation of either fixed or rotating tools as needed. The machine series’ standard equipment includes a hydraulic three-jaw chuck and an eight-station turret, which ensure smooth and reliable workpiece handling.
Advanced Automation and Maintenance
Integrated automatic lubrication and coolant systems ensure the machines’ long service life and continuous reliability. In addition, the heat exchanger in the electrical cabinet ensures that the electronics operate at an optimal temperature even during demanding and extended production runs. The SL Series slant-bed lathe is designed to meet the needs of modern machining, where efficient automation, easy maintenance, and high quality are key priorities.

Controls
The SL series is equipped with the popular Fanuc control system. The control package includes the AICC function, which enables “high-speed” turning.
Tool change
The SL series lathes are equipped with either a servo-driven or hydraulic tool changer. The tool changers have 8 or 12 positions, depending on the model.
VDI technology
The VDI system is a quick-release system for every tool holder on the tool plate. Thanks to this, tool changes can be performed in seconds rather than minutes, unlike with the traditional bolted Block clamping system.
Automatic tool measurement
The measuring arm reduces setup time to seconds and eliminates manual measurement errors. A highly sensitive touch sensor automatically updates the X- and Z-axis tool offsets directly to the machine control system. The sturdy and durable construction ensures precise repeatability even in demanding machine shop environments.
Oil mist collector
This powerful oil mist extractor removes harmful cutting fluid mists, aerosols, and fumes from the air in the CNC lathe’s work area immediately during machining. The device reliably filters the exhaust air and returns the separated oil or emulsion to the lathe’s fluid tank for reuse.
Bar Feeder
The automatic bar feeder enables uninterrupted, unmanned batch production on a CNC lathe by feeding new bar stock into the spindle immediately after each workpiece is cut. The device minimizes downtime spent on material changes, ensures precise and stable material positioning, and dampens vibrations in the rotating bar. This maximizes the lathe’s utilization rate and enables efficient “lights-out” manufacturing.
